The Texas Legislature is currently considering three bills that would get rid of the film incentives program in Texas. Reporter Danielle Ransom spoke with industry professionals to understand the impact of this measure.
From its soulful croon and thrumming guitar sounds, honky tonk music has long roots in Texas, tracing it back to one of the first traditional forms of country music to originate in the state. These same soulful drawls of the past can be heard emanating from various bars in downtown today.

In recent years, honky tonk music has been experiencing a renaissance moment. Austin’s reputation as the Live Music Capitol of the World has helped export this genre across states and countries.
