Originally from a small town south of Dallas, I grew up with a deep love for the innumerable imaginary worlds that were artfully captured between the pages of my favorite novels. With nothing but a small neighborhood to keep me occupied at a young age, my imagination became my tool for escape and
reading offered me perspectives my community lacked.

This love for reading translated into a passion for the stories I found in books, movies, television, and music. I truly believe that television and movies are much more than just stories on our screens. They inspired me to dream higher than was achievable in my small town, and college opened a whole new world of endless possibilities.

Living at Texas' epicenter of cinema while attending the University of Texas at Austin allowed me to grow as a storyteller and dream beyond my own preconceived expectations. Upon graduating with my Bachelor in Journalism, I moved to NYC where I currently work as a Music Journalist for BET Networks. 

 

Whenever I'm not brainstorming ways to engage and connect with our BET community, I’m listening to music or exploring NYC, I’m at home getting lost in a book or binge-watching Insecure.
